At Living Shutters, we were recently contacted by homeowners in Northwich who loved their conservatory but struggled with two common issues: excessive heat and poor airflow. They wanted a solution that would keep the space comfortable all year round – without relying on air conditioning or noisy fans.
The Brief
The customers requested:
A way to enjoy fresh air without insects entering.
Better heat control during warmer months.
A solution that complemented their anthracite conservatory and didn’t alter the sleek, modern appearance.
Our Installation
To achieve this, we designed and installed a complete, eco-friendly comfort package:
✔ Phantom Fly Screens
4 Phantom fly screens fitted to their conservatory windows.
1 Phantom fly screen installed on their conservatory doors.
All produced in a bespoke anthracite colour, matched perfectly to their existing framework for a seamless, integrated finish.
These retractable screens allow full ventilation while keeping insects out — ideal for warm days when doors and windows are left open.
✔ InShade Roof Sails
We also installed 6 bespoke InShade roof sails in two contrasting colours, chosen to complement the architecture of the conservatory while providing:
Significant heat reduction
Decreased glare
A softer, more inviting light throughout the space
The sails work by reflecting heat away from the conservatory, ensuring a naturally cooler environment without needing air conditioning.
The Result
The customers now have a comfortable, breathable, and bright conservatory that stays cool even on the hottest days. By combining Phantom fly screens with InShade roof sails, we provided a full eco-friendly solution that:
Improves airflow
Reduces heat
Enhances usability
Maintains the visual style of their anthracite conservatory
Requires no electricity, fans, or air-conditioning units
This Northwich installation shows how thoughtful design and high-quality products can completely transform a conservatory into a space that can be enjoyed year-round.
